Nelson Mandela International Day- (celebrating the contributions of Nelson Mandela, the civil rights leader who served 27 years of his life in prison for his protests against Apartheid in South Africa. He was instrumental in ending Apartheid in 1994, which was a system of racial segregation and political and economic discrimination against black people in South Africa. His day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that everyone has the power to transform the world and make an impact.
